It was fantastic to meet with Liz Twist MP this morning in Portcullis House with partners Dan from Social Enterprise UK and Chris from Plunkett UK from the Future Economy Alliance. Liz is a passionate advocate of community enterprise and local power and decision making.
As Shadow Minister for Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities we spoke about the importance of ensuring homes are unlocked for those in housing need while remaining in social or local authority ownership (this is one of our core principles: ‘assets in the hands of the impact makers’). We also made some suggestions on hidden levers which DLUHC could utilise to deliver quick wins for more housing in the next parliament.
